A large canyon creating a geological feature called a gooseneck. The San Juan River quietly flows at the bottom of the canyon.

The Gooseneck

Gooseneck State Park, Utah

Goosenecks are huge. I have tried two times now to photograph them, and I have come to conclusion, it is easier to pay attention to one at a time rather than the entire thing. On this sunrise, I really wanted to capture the quiet beaty of the desert. So as I walked I kept my peace and moved silently as much as I could. I wanted the calm of the morning to remain and be captured within the image. Photo © copyright by Nathan St. Andre.
