Peace In The Mist
Redwoods National Park
Mists in the redwoods is a special experience to photograph. As I worked on this composition the mists would come and go with varying thickness making it a very dynamic photographic experience. In general I do not get to photograph mist all that often. I just don’t live in a place that has these types of conditions. In fact, mists and humidity are frankly something I don’t deal with much resulting in some challenging photographic experiences for me. But in the end, I find this a successful image as it highlights the understory of a place like this when a bit of light can hit the ground, the nature of redwoods and how they are just so much bigge than anything else and how mists are an important part of this community as they give life nourishing water all year long even when the rain isn’t falling.
