Meet Your Instructors
Nathan St. Andre
Nathan St. Andre is a photographer based in the American Southwest who has specialized in photographing the canyons of Utah for over a decade. His work has been featured on Improve Photography, Utah Life Magazine, and has been collected by individuals around the world. In addition he is an instructor of Photography where he teaches classes on Photoshop and Lightroom and Biology at Utah Tech University where he teaches undergraduates about the natural world.
Of all the places in Utah that Nathan loves photographing the canyons of the Escalante are some of his favorite. Many months of his life have been dedicated to walking and photographing the canyons of this region.
Michael Rung
"Michael Rung is a photographer based out of north Texas, but the canyons and surrounding areas of southern Utah have a hold on him after several trips to the region over the past few years. Although he is known for his more intimate tree and woodland photography, Michael also appreciates capturing the grander vistas of the rugged Utah landscape. In short, he believes in working with what nature provides, regardless of the time of day or conditions.
After close to three decades working for the same company, where he was largely responsible for the coaching and development of others, Michael stepped away from his corporate career in early 2022 to pursue his passion for nature and landscape photography, and teaching, full-time."

Lodging
Lodging is not provided but the best housing in Escalante is the Canyon Country Lodge. If participants want to camp, we can arrange that and we can camp as a group. I encourage camping for multiple reasons, including quick access to location and appreciation of the landscape; but I understand the call of a soft bed and a warm place to sleep.
Food
Food must be provided by the attendee due to health code laws in the state of Utah. We will have access to some restaurant, but food will have to be provided by the customers. I will have a cooler to pack meals but guests will have to provide their meals. We will have a meal as a group on the final day as a send off and thankyou for coming on our workshop.
